This is an annual event with over 700 years of history, covering an area of almost 20 acres. You will find over 100 rides for kids on them. Goose Fair is a traveling town that takes place each year in the first week of October.
Historically, the Goose Market is named after geese that were driven from the Lincolnshire bogs in eastern England to be sold each year at the Nottingham fair.
Goose Fair was canceled in 1646 after the outbreak of the plague and again during the two world wars of the 20th century.
In 2020, it was one of the events that could not have happened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The next year, 2021, was also not lucky after the organisers rejected the plans to pay for the entrance and fencing the area. We keep our fingers crossed that in 2022 this spectacular event will return to our region.
